*15 min into your shift* I’m gonna send you on your 30 bc there are only 2 ppl on the floor for 3 hours.

SSV here-we run tens as efficiently as we can but they’re not required (at least in my state) only lunches are required. tens are a courtesy. sometimes we have days where we just don’t have the staffing to almost double the amount of time people are off the floor. some days weird flukes happen and the whole shift flies by and we don’t realize how many people didn’t get their tens until they’re leaving. some days it just can’t happen. please go easy on your SSV because we have a lot to do in a very short amount of time and sometimes we just can’t afford it.

As a SSV I can tell you straight up, there's nothing more annoying than barista ls who ask when they'll be getting thier breaks, and baristas who don't take timely breaks. I have time frames to meet and am often on a tight schedule to keep things in line.

It’s your responsibility as a shift to make sure breaks are given on time, not at your discretion. It’s not “annoying”, it’s your responsibility and something all partners deserve.

It's 100% at my discretion. I live in a state with no break laws.

It’s Starbucks’s policy... I’m sure you’re a gem to work with
You say you don’t like baristas asking you about breaks but also don’t like when they don’t take their breaks on time. Make up your mind but don’t let the power get to your head.

When I say "timely" I mean taking a 10 not a 15 or a 30 not a 40.
I almost never miss breaks, but it's 100% at my discretion when you're going to get them.
