Transferring (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by drumk1dd
Hi loves! I'm a 17 year old barista from the State of Ohio. I'm a senior in high school and recently hit my one year mark of working at Starbucks (December 17th). I leave for college in about 8 months, and even though I asked one of my store managers (we have two in my store, our 2nd one just doesnt have his own store) I'm still confused as to how to call other stores I wanna look into transferring to. I know most store managers work in the mornings (when I'm at school) and their rushes are when I have a chance in the morning. I also am planning on visiting the 4 stores (yes, 4 corporate stores) that I want to look at transferring to. What all should I know when it comes to transferring?

Let your SM know the area you wish to go to and they will send a transfer request form, that you both fill out, to your DM. Your DM will then reach out to the DM in the area you wish to transfer to and see which store needs you most, while still taking it to consideration what store you actually prefer. Hopefully that makes sense.

I’m late and im not op so I’m also I’m sorry but if I may comment.. I was hoping I’d be able reach out to stores on my own and to look at openings and pick a store in a specific neighborhood, while keeping my sm in the loop and filling out the transfer request. I just posted about the transfer process but you seem informed.

If you don’t mind, can I ask if it is possible to take a leave of a month or two to get moved and then settled in? I don’t want to ask me sm or DM if it’s supposed to be common knowledge that that’s not possible. I’d hate to leave Starbucks but it might be best for me to do so for this move.
