My store did and it was...not awesome. It caused so much confusion and the new procedures implemented specifically for it were ridiculous. There were so many drivers who didn’t understand how it worked and would want us to fix any problems they had (problems we couldn’t fix, that they had to contact either the customer or Uber for). The whole thing kinda sucked and we stopped doing it a couple months after starting.

We have it and it’s frustrating during peak sometimes because of having to do all the packaging for it but so far all the drivers have been very friendly and patient!

Oh no is this like mobile order nightmare edition? Adding on to what we already are terrified of

We got it a few months back. Gotta admit, insanely rocky launch. There was an Uber deal that made it so if you bought something small (banana, chips, ect) it came up as free. That was abused maliciously. That coupled with a former Uber employee constantly ordering bananas and cancelling the order before the drivers got to them and lack of day 1 support made things horrible for almost a straight week.

I am pleased to say that things have calmed down and eased up since then. Lot more reasonable orders but usually the bagging procedure is next to impossible on a two person floor but other than that, not too bad now. Hopefully launch works better for you.

I'm kind of terrified of it -- the idea of mobile orders + Uber eats + cafe/drive...good lord. I don't know how ya'll accommodate that.

My district is starting it late this month and honestly the "training" for it was garbage so I'm not excited for it to launch

Yeah our stickers come out through cafe bc our machines are messed up but they’re labeled for delivery. There will be cup holders too that people will steal🤬🤬🤬and just put everything in a bag with the white sticker to close it and add a name so no one has to go digging through. Its different from starbucks but ik a lot of other cafes have systems that work like that not for uber eats

We actually got to get rid of the one at my store. Hope you didn't get ours.
very_apologetic 3 points 3y ago
Yep, immediately broke but when it was working we would only get orders during peaks we all hate it
jwilkening 3 points 3y ago
we get a few here and there but it’s not much different than mobile orders

Yes, and it was a rough transition. My store had no good space to put it, but out DM picked our store to be the one in the district to be the trial run. You'll want a dedicated space to prep your deliveries. if possible put the tablet there too. You'll need space for bags, the new two-cup carriers, stickers, etc. (the table won't charge if you plug it into the USB on the POS)

We didn't get much training. Literally just a 1 page print out that we were instructed to read, followed up by a nosy DM who watched us and then complained that we did it wrong.

You have to be insanely on top of item availability especially RTDE items, and people sometimes order stuff you didn't realize automatically turned back on each day. It's really annoying to be out of something and then the person won't pick up their phone to figure out what to do, so you just have to pick something for them and hope it's ok.

We get 2-4 orders a day. Takes forever for a driver to accept orders though.

We’ve had it in Ottawa, Canada for a few months now.. it’s not that bad!

As an Uber Eats driver I’m keenly interested in this as well.
colonade17 2 points 3y ago
As a store with uber eats I apologize. We are often slammed with business, our staff has been poorly trained on how to use uber eats, the time that ubereats thinks it takes to have something ready is often off by as much as 10 minutes, and the system automatically tells you stuff is ready and I can't override it to say it will be a few more minutes.
brotherincharms 1 points 3y ago
No worries, I totally understand. I work at a licensed grocery store so I’m used to logistical discrepancies between systems. Any sensible person is going to connect you guys being slammed with a longer wait time.
