I worked for Starbucks for 7 months and this is exactly how it was at my store too. Seems like it happens at every store.

Every store is like this because most managers want to work 7-3 or 9-5. They never see the closers except for in passing.
I had a manager at one point who I only saw at store meetings, because he always left early once he finished all his managerial stuff.

I second this. And since they work during that time, they pad the schedules like crazy so THEY don’t feel overwhelmed on the floor but they’re also happy to schedule only 2 people to close during happy hour bc they use up all the labor for morning.

my store is the exact opposite of this, I work closes and opens and openers constantly are finishing the close in the morning, and starting most of the closing tasks super early to try to prevent these awful closes and they somehow just get worse the more the day crew tries to help out with the close.
