I care about dress code only when it comes to shoes because I have been hit in the heel by a closing fridge door and it hurt like hell but would have hurt more if I were wearing the wrong shoes. I've a raked a fridge door over my foot but it didn't hurt because of my shoes. And I've had more spills and syrups splatters on my shoes that are easily cleaned because I wasn't wearing canvas shoes. Feet are important and it sucks when walking hurts!

Ive worn basketball shoes to work every day for 3 years now and im fine. I spill hot stuff on them occasionally but ill live. I dont think i have closed my foot in any door ever

Damn near everyone who works here IS looking for a new job. We need to through school first. 18.50 an hour will not get you a closet in the bay area. So ill work hard to help my fellow partners and be a good teammate, leader, and customer service person, but im not gonna get shoes that i find uncomfortable and unfashionable for a job we all already work too hard for. My manager doesn't care, her manager probably doesn't care, why should anyone else?

So why work at sbux in the first place? Sounds like excuses for your own personal inability to make sound choices. Right time, right place, right uniform. I don’t think anyone with a sound mind enjoys working at sbux but blaming it for your own shortcomings? I myself am looking for another job but I’m not much of a complainer and sure as hell am not the complain dept.

Plenty of people can be comfortable in chucks all day long and there are leather chucks out there too. But if she drops scalding milk or hot water fresh from the tap on her foot in classic Chucks that won't exactly be the most comfortable.

Same! My Docs have saved me multiple times from scrapes from fridges and milk/water burns. Plus it's so easy to get the syrup splashes off leather more so than canvas

Some people are just more nervous or have anxiety. If they are a green bean then they'll get used to it. Especially if you've never been in a "quick serve" establishment. I work near Times Square and let me tell you. At first I was so nervous that I'd make dumb mistakes even if I was a retail manager at one point.

I can get that. Sorry if I sounded insensitive with my comment. Just has never been a problem with me. I’m socially awkward but when I do work I’m solid. I apologize again also considering I work in a Safeway Starbucks not a legit one.
