submitted by comicbookartist420
I am definitely wanting to work at least 20 hours a week (trans insurance benefits) And I was wondering if y’all could tell me anything about the insurance and how it works. I heard that after working there three months you can access the benefits. I also heard you have to take your insurance plan or something??? I’m thinking about getting a job at a Starbucks I don’t want to be completely full time but I do you wanna work enough to get the benefits. I was also wondering if you could tell me about your experience. There are two Starbucks in a town nearby that I know of. One is located inside a target and then the other one is just a regular store. They are both located in a small college town but the University in the town has a good bit of students.

Well for sure you need to apply to the one that is not the target because then you are working for target not Starbucks as soon as you apply you can talk to your boss about all the details.

I need those benefits so I likely will look there instead

Definitely don't apply to the Target Starbucks since it is a licensed store, and as others have mentioned you would be an employee of Target not Starbucks. I remember the process of getting insured through Starbucks was pretty easy. You do qualify after a certain amount time, typically over the 90 days. There are very helpful resources your manager will provide for you when hired. Its like the partner resources or the helpline, something of that sort. You will be supplied a list of benefit packages and you can just choose whatever you want to spend money on. Good Luck.

Ok so I can get the insurance after 3 months??

I googled the benefit eligibility , and if you click the link below you have to work at least 160 hours or more over two months. So, presumably you will get this information package when hired.

$1

Thanks so I might actually be able to get it under three months and it’s just based on hours?

the starbucks in target doesn’t offer the same benefits because you’re technically employed by target so you would need to go for the stand alone store. good luck!

Ok thanks. I want those benefits
