I can’t believe how rude customers can be. (self.starbucksbaristas)

So today i came in at 4 am and was put on drive till literally 10 am. At like around 8:30 am this woman came through drive, was being very impatient and rude with my DTO person and when she came to the window, just because I didn’t remember her (mind you we’re a busy store and see lots of people and faces) she calls me A MINDLESS MONKEY, then drives off with her drink. I’m so done. Then with my shift lead a guy came in and cussed her out because we didn’t put enough Carmel on his drink. What are we to even say in those types of situations???? Like what am I supposed to say to being called a mindless monkey without being rude? Like I know we have to stay with the latte Moto but like If I’m being attacked what do I even do?

“I apologize for the inconvenience, and I would love to remake your beverage, but we all need to be respectful to one another.”
If they continue then say
“ Your actions are disrespectful, I gonna have to ask that you leave the store.”

Some bs like that usually works. Make sure the tone is genuine/not undermine them. Most the time I can turn around situations like this.
Good roll playing skills help a lot here.

And the guy I was talking about is seperate from the first situation... which was handled by my shift lead like it said in the post....

Look up our Policy about being a no bullies/safe zone. Your free to explain to rude customers the rules and ask them to follow them. If not let them leave without a drink.

We used to have the best supervisor who would tell customers to scram if they even raised their voice at the baristas. “Ma’am, I don’t appreciate the tone that you’re using with this barista, so if you don’t change it, you have to leave now”

I am definitely that supervisor. I can’t stand too see baristas being disrespected... especially over dumb shit that they have no control over.

Omg I love supervisors like that! I actually have one that was like hey next time she comes I will tell her she can no longer come here.
