How many of your stores actually use the clean safe and ready cards??? If you do use them how do you realistically incorporate them into your shift? I feel like it’s so difficult

I fucking hate them. Especially as an opener, every card just says "lights are on and working"

I rarely use them, unless the DM is touring or something. And in that case I just flip from 'to do' to 'done' at the appropriate time

They pass out the cards to us at all the wrong times like in the middle of peak sometimes. They get forgotten about and found in weird places bc we like ??? I don't have time for this. We're almost the highest volume store in the district. Theres gonna be some fingerprints on the pastry case and some dust in the vents

I cover shifts in other stores all the time. I've never understood why there's so much resistance to use the CSR cards: It helps make sure tasks are distributed fairly and all the necessary stuff gets done, and I've never seen a store invent a better alternative. Maybe someone here can enlighten me on they don't like them.

In my store the SSVs and SM sat down and used a sharpie to annotate each card with store specific instructions. We typically have an opener who passes out AM cards, a mid-shift who passes out mid cards, and a closer who passes out PM cards. The SSV hands a card to a barista, the barista does everything listed on the card: THEN the barista hands the card to the SSV. The SSV inspects. If it's done correctly, great, if not, the SSV shows the barista what they missed and helps them complete it. Then the card goes on the done side of the rack.

a lot of them are like "clean counters" "stock" "wipe down machine"

like ok bro i already did that because otherwise it's nasty/ hard to work, this card is useless, take it back

I'm not really sympathetic to that, because some of my baristas think that it's ok to leave things nasty if someone else made things nasty. The card is a way of convincing them that it's literally their job to clean up messes left by other people.

And then there are people who think they did everything they're supposed to but never wipe underneath the machine and think it's just good enough to wipe the part they can see. The card is a tool that helps hold you accountable for getting it done.
