Excuse the grammar I work 3 jobs and I’m exhausted and over double checking before posting

It really depends on the store, I’d say. Some stores have really strong interpersonal politics and SMs will pick their pets. People also vote for those in their ‘inner circles’. I won once at this store bc at the time, the store was divided down the middle and I was this new transfer that was kinda well liked by both sides so my SM gave it to me being that I was a ‘safe’ choice. I do work hard and always get overlooked but I try not to let it get to me. I’ve decided a long time ago that my hard work is for me and me only. It’s to satisfy my work ethics and for me to sleep well at night.

Well, as a SM when I first took over the store, there was a group of experienced partners that controlled the nominations. I shut that down as it shut partners out as soon as I found out.

I have worked really hard to make POQ something in my store.

The last two times we have done live voting at our meeting and we read all the votes together kinda like survivor finally. My partner work really hard, the votes are spread out well. Everyone gets their votes.

We use cluster and have a group called fist bump. We use it to show appreciation to each other for the small things that happen each month. Who ever wins that month gets an amazon gift card and an additional nomination for POQ.

What you need to understand is it is a nomination not a vote. Some managers will treat it that way. I have followed it every time, even when I don’t agree. There are managers who don’t.

I was a sm for 3 years I followed it but working another job full time that paid triple I gave up. I still am confused why it’s such a touchy subject

Because it is recognition, which is one of the most important things you can give your partners.
