Don’t know what I would do if this were my store... (v.redd.it)

Corporates gonna look at this and be like “should’ve been using headspace” smh
Wonderful_Nightmare 31 points 3y ago
Omfg this comment had me cackling so HARD!
flynn_frank 11 points 3y ago
I'm fucking dead 🤣🤣🤣
NOTcreative- -22 points 3y ago
This manager should not be in role. Wish the video started sooner but cops should have been called before it got to the point she threw her drink. He handled this incredibly poorly. This isn’t a head space issue this is an issue of level of maturity and composure in this situations. These are unavoidable as we serve on average 700 people a day. There’s gonna be a few bad eggs. As an SSV i has someone I gave a free drink to start yelling and cussing at me. Asked her calmly to leave and when she threatened me, cops were called and took care of the situation. We are trained to handle these, this manager forgot his training.
glittterturtles 38 points 3y ago
He was literally just assaulted... and you’re grinding on HIS maturity? Fuck that noise.
sstcyr 24 points 3y ago
You don't need an earlier start, he is clearly sitting off the side minding his business, maybe on break. He stands up pretty calmly after the drink is thrown and only then rises to her screaming. The person behind the counter calls security when she throws the drink. They did what they're supposed to so. I'd stand behind my manager for this and if he gets fired that's sending a shitty ass message to employees. That were supposed to take this abuse with a smile?? That THIS type of customer is more important than us and our wellbeing? Hell no

Lol wut? Where in my post did I even come close to saying they should be making the moment right?

My post pretty much said this manager shouldn’t be a manager and the cops should’ve have been called on this lady long before the video started. Maybe you should read.

The “Cory grande iced latte? Cory” near the end killed me LMAO
Leahwallzorz 29 points 3y ago
The literal embodiment of the “this is fine” meme 😂
IPinkerton 21 points 3y ago
When Im on bar idk about anything except the next drink
heartashley 86 points 3y ago
Even if the milkshake wasn't thrown at me, I'd cry. If I wasn't working there, I would have very nicely told that lady to fuck right off. Fuck anyone who thinks this is how you treat people. I don't care if your drink is wrong, I don't care if someone told you to fuck off. Unreal.
bebephillips [OP] 44 points 3y ago
Agreed. Although, I’ve grown so tired of the treatment over the years at this job that I might just accept my fate at that point, tell her to fuck off anyway and lose my job.
priyasingh25 62 points 3y ago
the police woulda been called:\ she deserves to walk out of that starbucks in handcuffs. sure words mighta been exchanged, but the minute she threw her drink at him and threatened to call her son to whoop him, she became the aggressor and there’s video proof. i hate entitled people who think everyone gotta bow to their will
NOTcreative- 10 points 3y ago
I’m betting cops should have been called before the drink throwing happened.
priyasingh25 4 points 3y ago
EXACTLY
awwwwjammit 57 points 3y ago
I would have gotten fired and arrested if I was him. Like I don’t even think I would have held back from yelling at her for as long as he did.

Like hell no.
extracarmul 41 points 3y ago
He probably will. Corporates gonna look at this video, fire him, and offer her a $50 gift card even after she acted that way. Fucking ridiculous
tragicalyhappy 17 points 3y ago
Yeah that's pretty much guaranteed, he's going to lose no matter what. I've learned (and sadly accepted) that unless someone puts their hands on me, no matter how inhumane the treatment, the employee will always lose to the customer.
Arianasagapo 8 points 3y ago
This person put their drink on me, I am willing to risk it all at that point. Fuck a job that doesn’t care about its employees.
tragicalyhappy 6 points 3y ago
Not wrong, not disagreeing.
girlwhoplayswithbugs 2 points 3y ago
This was you?? I’m so sorry. You did better in the situation that I would have.
bebephillips [OP] 27 points 3y ago
Yeah I think I would be completely ready and willing to lose my job at that point.
awwwwjammit 14 points 3y ago
I would be ready to catch a case.

Hope she would be ready to catch these hands.
PleaseFeedTheBirds 41 points 3y ago
Tag yourself I'm the "Grande Iced Latte for Corie."
crzyshiba 7 points 3y ago
Hahaha dude I was like dead hahaha
Crims0nN0ble 40 points 3y ago
Ngl stuff like this makes me SO ANXIOUS. I’ve been trapped in scenarios like this in other jobs- and I’m waiting for the day some bullshit like this occurs at my store.
thedeadwillwalk 39 points 3y ago
Why the fuck are the security guards just letting the situation continue? Even though it’s clearly more the fault of the customer, far better to remove the her and let them both calm down before getting to the heart of what happened.
dittyquadrant 30 points 3y ago
Fuck. THAT.
lilipoxx 28 points 3y ago
Tag yourself I’m the girl that nope’d the fuck out at 0:59
LilKaySigs 26 points 3y ago
Honestly Starbucks should give employees a right to defend themselves in situations like these. Being a doormat for customers just gives more people an excuse to be an asshole because they won’t receive repercussions and it makes the employees feel like absolute shit and lower than human sometimes
Kaylushhh 15 points 3y ago
We can defend ourselves. We just need to make sure that we aren’t egging on the situation. If someone harms you, you have every right to defend yourself. I wouldn’t curse but no one is gonna throw a Frappuccino at me and walk out without being in cuffs. The cops would have been called and I would have pressed charges to have her ban from the store.
cs_phoenix 7 points 3y ago
What do you mean by the right to defend themselves? Like verbally? Physically?
LilKaySigs 5 points 3y ago
Like verbally
cactuskirby 20 points 3y ago
Oh hell no. That bitch consumed that drink, there is no way I would give a damn refund. Girl you're lucky they didn't call the cops on you. I would not have lasted as long as he did.
Rottenbobaballs7 17 points 3y ago
As noticed by some other people, this happened at a Starbucks location by hotel nikko in SF. And bullshits like this happens everyday, this just happened to be the one surfaced on the internet.
SkinnyVanilly 14 points 3y ago
This is fucked.

Reminds me of an experience we had at my store on Veterans Day two years ago. He tried roping us into giving him any drink for free instead of you know a drip coffee. I greeted him on drive and he argued with me for a minute or two then drove off. Five minutes later came into the store yelling and proceeded to call our shift a bitch and other things at the top of voice in a fully crowded store.

People are fucking wack man. I just don’t get it.
Kyenne_Pepper123 14 points 3y ago
What the hell was her purpose? Like why do customers feel like they’re in titled to have their way all the fucking time?
bebephillips [OP] 7 points 3y ago
Starbucks has a way of rewarding this behavior to keep customers, unfortunately.
butisit_decaf 6 points 3y ago
UNFORTUNATELY. I can’t wait to leave this company. This is why I’m on my way out. One too many times the customer is put before your HARDWORKING employees. It’s bullshit

tragicalyhappy 12 points 3y ago
I'm tearing up (from sadness) because constantly customers are near the point of this type of escalation over a fucking beverage and pastry... But no matter what, this guy is like 99.9% gonna be fired and she's gonna come back even worse because some suit is gonna recover the world for her to save face...
official_koda_ 12 points 3y ago
Hope her so called job sees this and then she won’t have a job anymore. She’s extremely mentally unstable.
Vader_Boi 11 points 3y ago
I’d go to jail 🤷🏻‍♂️
[deleted] 11 points 3y ago
Btw what was the outcome of this,?
bebephillips [OP] 4 points 3y ago
It’s not my video, as cross posted from public freakout. I tried to find an article but no luck :/
[deleted] 10 points 3y ago
Corporate be like “and this is why Customer Support is important”

Anybody have a transcription or captions?
Wonderful_Nightmare 10 points 3y ago
What the hell even happened?
bebephillips [OP] 21 points 3y ago
I’m not sure. Seems like store manager/shift manager and customer got in a big dispute about her order. Her actions were definitely uncalled for though
Israaaaman 9 points 3y ago
Don't you know? This is Starbucks class 102, how to react when a customer is being a complete asshole in the eventual future. They also wouldn't train you well enough to know how to react if this were to happen hahaha
sstcyr 8 points 3y ago
Hope she gets double charged for calling her son to assault the manager too
sophie-marie 8 points 3y ago
That fucking bitch DESERVES handcuffs. Fucking lock that crazy as bitch up!

I feel *soooooo* sorry for that SM! Like knowing the Bux, he’ll get a write up or something but still. I hope he keeps his job.

The cops in LA take two hours to respond to someone being aggressive and threatening to kill us. Sometimes they don’t even show up.
Matayocro 6 points 3y ago
Bless the rest of the baristas who kept working
Arianasagapo 5 points 3y ago
Man I really wish I knew the outcome of this situation. Did she get arrested? Did he get fired? WHAT HAPPENED
its_Lydia_ 3 points 3y ago
Fück it, I would do exactly what he did Lmaoo

I’m not gonna pretend I know the context of this before the video began, but I don’t think a word warrants deserving assault.
nosmokingz0ne -70 points 3y ago
I bet he’ll never call someone a bitch again.
cactuskirby 32 points 3y ago
Nah he did it again and again, as he should. Act like a bitch get called a bitch and banned from the mall.
nosmokingz0ne -52 points 3y ago
Call someone a bitch, get a drink thrown on you. If a Starbucks barista called me a bitch, I wouldn’t throw my drink on them, I’d throw hands.
