an actual interaction i had the other day while i was making drinks with literally no milk in my fridge on dt bar:

for the third time: “hey my fridge at drive is completely empty, can i get some milk out here?”

my coworker (who has asked me to get milk for her several times): “it’s pretty dead, just get it yourself”

this was also after she asked me to make whip too, and she was just texting while i did everything before disappearing into the back room with everyone else but the person on cafe bar. so shoutout to the partner on cafe bar who was helpful and stocked my fridge and also helped me hold down the fort after everyone else had disappeared into the back room

It’s so mysterious when that happens too... same happens at my store where suddenly everyone but one or two partners are in the back for no reason.... chatting maybe but goddamn. There’s barely any room back there in the first place

Or more partners so CS isn't overworked and therefore can't do their job right AHEM CORPORATE

just use headspace man, sure youre down way more partners than usual because corporate doesnt want to actually pay people to work but hey, headspace, it’ll make you forget all your problems. thats how mental health works, right?

It's always struck me as disgustingly ironic that they partnered with Headspace after slashing labor and people, not paying their overworked staff a living wage, putting on a gigantic expensive show in Chicago in 2019 and the CEO giving himself a $50 million dollar bonus. We cause your stress in every way but here, here's some shit on an app.

When I get assigned to CS I go up to bar and I just tell them straight forward “just shout at me if you need something”. We stay pretty stocked up

Damn you guys have a customer support?
lewabwee 1 points 3y ago
As someone who worked at a cafe that turned into a much busier drive-thru it’s really not as nice as it sounds. They want you to always be a person or two understaffed.

We don't even get a CS half the time. Bar is expected to restock themselves with the restock stations.

Haha relatable

if my CS person isn’t doing their job, i go the, “CAN SOMEONE GET ME SOME ICE BEFORE I FREAK OUT” route and someone who isn’t busy, CS or not, gets my ice

I dont even know if anyone actually gets put on customer support at my store. They just yell what they need and whoever isnt busy gets it.

I get put on bar a lot and there’s usually one partner that really only wants to do support so he’s always placed there and he will flip out if I ask him for anything. Even if I have stickers to the floor he won’t help without throwing a fit. 🙃

When I was a partner we didn't even have CS half the time. I'd be working drice and then when I have a moment of peace try and get things restocked
