When you're a 5yr SSV and getting screwes b/c Min. Wage increases..(self.starbucksbaristas)

Like this is just ludacris to me. When this happened the 1st time I had only been a shift for 2 years or so, so it wasn't worth the fight. But now... I just cant. I make 30cents more than a starting SSV.
How is this company getting away with this!? How does my 5 years in my role not mean anything. I feel so defeated. I work my ass off, and I'm very good at my job. But a new promote is worth as much as me? I dont think so...
I'm like a month out from transfering to a new district and my managers over here telling me I'm better off transfering and just showing up in my new store. I get dealing with the politics that is a big company, but this is mad. Rasing the minimum wage does NOT mean you get to throw away all of my experince ive built. It means I get raises on top of what ive already accumulated.
I don't wanna leave. But I'm so over this. I'm so over being unappreciated, but I also dont have any clue where to go instead.

I feel you. Almost 7 years and I make the same as a brand new shift at my store because taxes are high in my area when I transferred. It makes me not wanna work my ass off as much because I’m getting paid the same as if I was just promoted.

Like why bother? You wanna pay me as a new promote? Ahaha. Game. Got cha brah. As it is I truly believe SSV's should be on salary anyway.
We are the backbone of the stores, weeelllll before the managers. Without us this company DOESNT WORK. When we get shit managers WE are the ones that keep these stores in the green.

I always wanna slack off (2 1/2 year here—but still one of the longest partners at our store) im only a barista but around the time of the crazy wage thing, we also found out our SM was gonna be switched with another (who has a bbbaadddd rep just to ruin our store) and we are just off the wall with people leaving, people transferring and the new SM has really cut down our hours (idk how my old SM did it for us, but she was amazing) reflecting these labor cuts we havent really experienced up until now like baristas are getting like 10-25 hours a week and thats like 10-15 hours less than we usually got and we are just confused and it pisses me off that a partner who precloses sit on her phone out on the floor watching videos at full volume gets paid the same as me who runs around and does basically everything else (she just stocks, and im a closer so i should be doing more dishes and not following you around giving you things to do) sorry but thanks🥺

Yup I feel that friend. It would cost this company so much less to keep tenured partners happy!
Ive had three managers in the 6-7 years ive been here and the 2nd one was a total shit show. Like so bad.

Starbucks pay really is awful compared to other major companies. It’s ridiculous

Suggestions where I can go. I just need some guidance to get out of this position.

I'm here for the suggestions as well. Ssv here making hardly enough for bills🙃

I would check out Target bc in my area at least starting pay is $13-14/hr which is like $4 above minimum wage. I also know some grocery stores like Whole Foods and Publix (tho this would mostly apply to anyone in Florida) pay well and you’ll probably have a better chance of getting more hours

It is! Every other fast food place in my area starts at a higher wage. I haven’t been at Starbucks too long and I’d hate to quit as I have a long work history and my coworkers are good, but I can’t take the wage anymore.

I’m sorry to hear, I know what you feel and that’s why. I chose to step down after 3 years. Wasn’t worth it to me anymore
