Def use the retail espresso beans if you have them at your store before you resort to Pike!
It’s a completely different roast and the quality of the shots will be way off!! It would have to be a massive emergency in my book to use Pike. Reach out to other stores too in your area before as well!

Oooh you would definitely notice the difference. One of our regulars always gets a triple macchiato, and one day, she pointed out that it tasted very watery. Upon further inspection, someone had poured pike beans into the espresso bean bin by accident. She wasn’t the only one that day to notice a difference... you can even tell upon looking at the shots how much more diluted they are. Would not recommend/10.

Not really the best option tbh, if you have any retail bags of espresso you can QMOS those and use them, or check with other Targets nearby

Yeah I'm thinking it's not a good idea but was trying to explain to them why.

It would work because they are coffee beans, but the shots wouldn't be of the same quality.

Sorta, sorta not. Espresso is a brewing method, the type of roast determines the flavor with the espresso roast designed for best enjoyment brewed as espresso. The best option would be to contact a nearby store and ask if they could send a bag over
