Someone's Gonna Break a Nose.(self.starbucksbaristas)

So you know the swinging kitchen style doors in most of the stores? My new DM has told us that we have to keep those doors closed now because it's more pleasant for the customers to not see the back of the store. Our store is technically a kiosk so it is tiny. The space behind the bar is about the width of one of those doors and we have work stations right up against where those doors open now and we're all worrying about when someone inevitably gets hurt taking a door to the face. Well, the baristas are. My manager is just repeating the DM.
The DM suggested that we should be calling out "door" now like we do when crossing the bar behind people. Two reasons this doesn't work: 1: It's a small space so it's very easy to not hear someone if it gets even slightly loud. 2: They won't hear it cause there's a door in the way!
All that, and having the doors shut ruins the circulation so it feels like five degrees hotter. They shouldn't even talk to us till they fix our air conditioner.
Edit: I'm not giving away too much of what my store looks like, am I?

My store has the same doors you at talking about. Honestly, after a few weeks, everyone learns to be careful and look through the window before, accidents do happen, but no o e had been hit in the face yet.
