someone orders a brewed tea with steamed coconut milk. i charge them for the custom tea latte and they come up to the window and was like "nope i was NEVER before charged for the tea latte. why the hell would i pay $5 for the tea?" well man, you wouldnt have to pay $5 for the tea if you didnt get it with the milk. i stand my ground trying to inform him that the steamed coconut milk with the tea with be charged as a custom tea latte. there was an awkward pause and he just comes to my face and said" well fuck you" and literally drives off. we already made the tea latte and his trenta pink drink so... well.. yeah we threw those away

It depends on how much they want for me. I ask when they order it: did you want like, a little bit of steamed milk, or more like half steamed milk, half water? If they just want a little (less than 4 oz) I charge them for a brewed tea. If they want more, I charge them for a custom latte.

Tbh it's not even just the milk it's the extra labor it takes to steam milk vs just pouring a splash in or not at all. People get so entitled and its like.. if you're nice I probably wont charge you for the nondairy milk but that's a tea latte and I want the sticker to print to the damn bar because it's easier
