I was the OP who posted a few weeks ago about “strangely sweet customers”. My experience had been the older gentleman that would give all the ladies that I work with pepper spray (but I hadn’t gotten any at that point).
Well last night during my closing shift, it happened! He walked up to the drive thru window (it was kind of scary at first, lol), but then I saw that he had a HUGE smile on his face. I opened the window and he handed me some new pepper spray. He said “you walk to your car at night, you need to be safe!” and after me asking a million times if he was sure, he just reminded me “I want you to be safe”.
It was the most kind gesture that I had experienced in a long time, though I had to wonder why he had been doing this. After talking to my coworkers, I found out his sister (who is his age as well), was assaulted and is trying to make sure it never happens to anyone he knows (again).
I just hope he knows how much we appreciate him and his sweet gestures. 💚💚
[TLDR: An older gentleman came in to give me pepper-spray last night & told me to be safe. Its just the sweetest thing I’ve experienced in a while and it’s so dang wholesome.]
