Im.afraid the partner will be older, which is most likely, and I have never trained anyone before.

You will be fine. When I first started I was 22 and trained like 15+ people and most of them were 25+ and a ton were middle aged like 50. You are fine. Just teach them just as if you were talking to a friend. I’m almost 29 now and have seen it time and time again. Age doesn’t matter at work. We treat everyone the same or we should. The older people try to respect you and be patient with you even tho you are only 17. I wouldn’t worry. Just teach them what you know be patient and the best thing you can do is introduce them to co workers even regulars! :) it’s fun! Just pretend if you were in their shoes. You got this!

Hey I’m 39 and I was trained both times by much younger partners. So much respect!!! Don’t be afraid, I love working w younger people. My kids are teens so close to your age and I’ll say as a momma I’m super proud of you. Own your knowledge!!! 💕

Im 22 and trained a new 40 yr old partner today. Maintain professionalism, be friendly, know your stuff and they will think nothing of it! :)

My trainer was older than me but we have a lot of young (20 or younger) partners and honestly they are some of our best baristas. I am 27 but completely respect them, and props for being a trainer so young, that shows a lot of hard work!

Would you be able to let me know how it goes? I'm 18 and my SM really wants me to be a trainer, but tbh I'm kind of scared because of the same exact thing.

I’ve trained once when I was at a license store still

If you need any advice-private message me. I’ve been a trainer for 4 years, and I reworked our trainer guidelines to better fit actual human learning-no one can comprehend all that material in a week. I use a lot of phonetics, and simplified things quite a bit. It hits the mark on what they need to learn, it’s just better suited for teaching and learning.
