Starbucks Baristas: The daily grind

For customers that don’t believe our brewed coffee is hot enough. This is what 200 degree coffee does when it burns through a tennis shoe and sock. Thank you for the scar, Starbucks. 😡🤬😤 (i.redd.it)

I’ve got a nice scar on my arm from grilled cheese grease 🙃 so I totally feel you

Ouch. This is why I don't wear tennis shoes to work.

Love this!

This is why you are supposed to wear slip-resistant, leather topped shoes. Don’t thank Starbucks for your scar, you have yourself to thank for that. I have spilled burning coffee on my leather shoes several times with no complaints.

I'm sorry this happened, this is a tough injury to recover from. That said, I'm going to give you some tough love. Please, for your sake, make your next pair of shoes restaurant-grade. Non-slip and non-permeable for this reason, but very comfortable and usually breath reasonably well.

If there isn't a store in your area, $1 will ship and exchange until you get one that fits; plus they are much less costly than most specialty shoes.

These sort of burns are precisely why most restaurants, etc. state in their dress code that tennis/sport shoes are strongly discouraged (if not outright banned). Non-slip, too, for what I hope are reasons you don't also learn from experience.

Our water is too hot. The fact that our hot water taps are so exposed and spew water out at basically boiling point bothers me.
kmoonster 4 points 3y ago
While it isn't the safest, tea/coffee do have to steep at nearly boiling, no?

Serving is one thing, but brewing is tough to get around as I understand it.

I thought this was a lipstick color swatch in the thumbnail.

Please tell me you did a work comp claim... Cuz that looks like it's gonna get...... complicated.

Oh hey I did the same thing today, except with steamed milk. $1

I spilled a coffee on myself in drive thru and the customer at the window laughed and said “it’s a good thing that Starbucks coffee is never hot” as I could feel the coffee burning my skin. I had to leave for 15 minutes to apply burn gel.
