Not the regulars though, usually they’re some of the most bomb people! I don’t know why this is still on my mind, but I’m still bitter about it.

So I had this lovely older lady come in with who I can only assume was her husband. It’s Valentine’s Day and my store is in a super central location with a couple flower shops nearby, so we were pretty darn busy all day! It’s almost the end of my shift and I’m feelin pretty low energy but I just put on my customer service persona and smile through it. After all, I only have about half an hour until I’m off!

So she comes in with her husband and they order both their drinks one after the other at super speed. They were both pretty simple, though I don’t remember them now. I do remember he asked for it “less sweet” which sometimes means half but sometimes it doesn’t so I just wanted to be sure! So as I’m ringing them through I go to mention how many pumps are in his drink and blah blah blah but I only get about two words out before he makes this sort of “UH!” Sound and puts his index finger up at me as he’s looking through the pastry case.

This man shushed me like a dog. I was craving a cigarette for hours and I swear it took everything in me not to grump right back at him. (Obviously this is not the worst thing to happen to a partner by far, even at my own store! But I’m still bitter).

TLDR; some crotchety boomer shushed me like a dog and I’m bitter.
