this job makes me feel like a shitty person, mostly bc im always annoyed or irritated about something. and I try to not let it get to me, but sometimes it really does, just cause customers can be way too much sometimes. so i’m wondering if anybody else feels this way or has before

Yes all the time not to mention other partners calling in or asking you to take their shift the day before/ constantly being asked if you can work on your days off, then having to break plans with your friends and having no social life

i refuse to take anybodies shift, especially when i’ve worked a week straight and only get like a day off

Not just customers, but management.
The district manager in my district drives me nuts.
Starbucks : new policy! Charge flavoured water as custom ice tea (or whatever it's called).
Customer orders a Trenta ice water with strawberry inclusions and a "splash" of passion tea and complains that she should be charged 1 dollarish.
Shift: no.
Shift gets in trouble.
Fuck.

See, I’ve noticed every district has different rules for this? I was told to charge as custom Iced tea. Then I was told by another shift from a different store that charging it that way is technically “stealing from the customer” for charging them for something they “didn’t get” because there’s no tea if it’s just the water with raspberry pumps. But if there’s a splash of tea I know it’s a custom iced tea just like if they just get matcha water. So I’m still confused on this policy man.

A recent weekly update said to ring a water with syrup as a custom iced tea. Whatever shift from another store told you it was stealing had it reversed 🙂

today my coworker said to me (they recently put in their notice) ' this job makes me want to drink'. i said 'yeah that's customer service for you' lol.
