“Have you ever tried an americano?”
olivegarden696 55 points 3y ago
The ones that say “that sounds good!” And convert are my fave
CriticalSheep 37 points 3y ago
Pour Overs usually take about 5 or more minutes to make. Could I offer you an Americano instead? Otherwise our Pike is always hot and ready to pour!
ditchthatdutch 26 points 3y ago
(except for when it's not because your CS is texting their friends in the back because what is a role?)
CriticalSheep 12 points 3y ago
LEGIT yesterday! We were so short staffed that we kept forgetting to brew. The timer was never set because we all were running around filling three roles during a peak where DT went down for about 30 minutes.
shutupsav 3 points 3y ago
bruh I came in the other day and the SM was on customer support and we had no coffee brewed...
lanutriafeliz 11 points 3y ago
Say about 7 minutes!! It works better than 5 minutes
sandycat555 2 points 3y ago
Or, a Pike with a shot, if they ask for dark roast
stwawbewwyacai 1 points 3y ago
I've tried this before and my manager unfortunately caught me and took over lmao. Had to make the pour over anyways.

It usually works when we give then the wait time. Usually.

omggg I use a Grinch quote for shit like this:

Then he got an idea. An awful idea. The Grinch had a wonderful, awful idea.

Me giving people Pike when there's no Blonde because only 1 in 10 people might be able to taste the difference under the unholy amount of dairy and sweetener they shovel in there
Beverice2 8 points 3y ago
Honestly I just make it. Idc if people are waiting, not my fault. Just do your job to a good speed and if there are too many people waiting that’s on your leadership not you. Try to never stress about people waiting because in the end it’s not your fault

Dark pour over during happy hour rush? That sounds like a pike with adds shots?
Saoirse_Says 6 points 3y ago
Those are completely different drinks though.
capgrasdeluded 1 points 3y ago
Sounds like a pour over during a happy hour rush.

This one guy asked me for a pour over with espresso beans in the middle of peak, while my manager was staring me down to make sure i did it right. I could hear my own heartbeat.
Meinax151 [OP] 10 points 3y ago
With espresso beans? I feel like I've heard of something that's just espresso and hot water...hmmm 🤔
reef7112 3 points 3y ago
Yeah, hmmm. Its on the tip of my tongue....

"Have you tried a triple long shot?"
ironfistpenguin 3 points 3y ago
Not sure if this is standard but I’ve never been called out for it. I’ll do it but I’ll let the person know it’ll be more than 5min because there’s a long line. And I’ll clear out the line before starting it. Now if there’s someone getting a lot of food or the line is to the door, I’ll only grab a few more orders before starting the pour over. I’ve been lucky with a lot of regulars who understand pour overs and are patient when others order them too
