I was going to post this on the r/starbucks but then I got kind of worried since they did say that they don't go under the radar when it comes to corporate. I just wanted to rant.
So I had my last day on Sunday so I'm glad I don't have to deal with this guy anymore, but I honestly feel bad for all my coworkers and honestly anyone that has to work specifically under him especially if they're a pretty girl.
My DM has a ***record*** of being fired for sexual misconduct reasons in the workplace. It's not just rumors for sure either as there is a barista whose mother worked with him at his old job where he got fired for that reason. There they also found out that he was fired for the same reason at his previous job before that. So that's in question. He might have just been "let go" instead of fired so he could have gotten around that. He might have been a good worker besides that as well (which would be weird because he just annoys the hell out of everyone when he's in their store).
So Starbucks hired him right away as a DM. I don't know if that's normal or if it's normal that they hire someone to be a DM and never put him in a store to find out how everything works. He has not worked on the floor past learning maybe super basic things and it shows. Anyways continuing on.
He has a reputation for sure and it's quite obvious. He shows a lot of interest in girls that are pretty and would be ones that he knows he can push it without them realizing or wanting to report it. I have definite 4 examples from my own store and there are many more from other stores.
1. Every time a good looking girl walks in especially if she is a little younger and is dressed in a certain way, oh boy you can see from a mile him eyeing them. So much that one of our regulars would laugh because she knew if he was in he would eye her as soon as she walks in. She's not just a regular though she is the sister of one of our SSV. I know she takes it as a mix of gross and a compliment.
2. We had a SSV that he would not tell that she was not going to get promoted to ASM and therefor never get her own store. She was literally the worst and I can go on and on about how incredibly dense to how crazy she had become. Anyways, it was because she was on his radar. The whole story could tell. So glad she left because I think my SM at the time really pushed to get her fired as everyone dreaded her.
3. He offered to pay for one of the baristas to try out for the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. Offered to pay for the entire thing. I mean hey, maybe he was trying to be a friend right? Lol. Everyone in my store knew that. He would also text her about things outside of work. I don't know the exact content of the messages and to be honest I don't think I ever want to know the content of those messages.
4. There is an adorable, but to be honest ditzy barista that works at my old store. She was hired after me and I can see the /obvious/ attention he would give her. But she soaks that up from anyone and everyone to be honest. She is funny. But even she said she knows that he pays attention to her more and one time she got into some serious trouble. He had to deal with her by himself and herself. She said it was uncomfortable the way he talked to her and how he acted during that little talk that he had to have with her. The biggest problem with this example though is she likes to say BS. I honestly love her tall tales like 85% of the time and can tell you my favorite obviously fake stories. Anyways, it can seem like a girl who cried wolf kind of thing, but I do and all my coworkers believe that it's true.
I think the most creepy though has to be that he did contact a barista on a dating app. The more creepier thing is his son is 18, he's married, and is doing all of this and the adorable ditzy girl? She's 18 as well. Most of the girls that he seems to be interested in is 18-25. He's in his 40s.
Anyways, I'm glad I don't have to deal with him. Literally everyone hates when he comes to the store because of he's kind of useless on what he nitpicks on. Also when we he "helps" us its something that almost makes things worse. I remember one busy day and he yelled at our SSV because of bar times didn't seem good enough. We were nonstop at peak on a Friday where we are right by Costco, Sams Club, restaurants, and a mall. Not only was it something we couldn't change as we were going as fast as we can. He decided it was also a good time for her to step off the floor to tell her that. The other day he kept questioning my SM where his drink was (as he was on cafe/mobile/(now) delivery bar) and he told him that we were getting many many huge mobile orders as it was Valentines Day. Yet he seemed to not understand and would think that my SM who is in line to get promoted would just throw out his drink? I don't know. My favorite is when we were also super busy and he wasn't even working at the time! He was in our store to pick up a cambro and he was keeping an eye on us. I was making a tea or something and he cut the line off to tell our SSV at the time that I need to shake my teas 10 times! Also waited for her to tell me so too. Thanks dude. I'm just glad it was me who he saw as a bunch of baristas in my store honestly "shake" the drinks in the cup.
I'm not the one with any true evidence to build a case and the what seems like many people who actually do won't say anything. Which means he does well on his choices because as my past store manager had admitted, she knows he won't go for anyone that he thinks would actually say or do something. I just wanted to complain about literally the creepiest dude I have had to work with and not just that under.
