Is it a problem to date a fellow partner? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I did this, transferred to a close by store when things got serious after a few months. We’re still happily together now a year an a half later.

I wouldn’t recommend staying in the same store tho. You can get irritated with each other. Aren’t off at the same time often. And it’s nice to still have something to tell each other at the end of the day the other doesn’t already know.

If you feel like you have a connection, go for it. This is just a job.

A little bit, yeah. They'll probably make one of you transfer

As long as you are both baristas, or a barista and a shift, yes. Can your SM still ask one of you to transfer? Also yes.

Think about it in the long term. It’s possible it might not work out, and then what? You still have to work with them, or one of you has to find another store? $1 has some examples.

We have a couple at my store, both baristas and they often work shifts together and it's not an issue at all. They're both great and don't let working with each other interfere. We also had a guy transfer because he was dating a shift at his previous store. That's a no no according to policy I believe but so long as you're at the same level and you're not sucking fave, pretty sure depending on the SM it's okay?

I’m currently dating a fellow partner at my store. My SM and everyone in the store knows too. It isn’t a big issue because I mostly open/peak and he works mids and closes so we don’t see each other at work much.

Could it get awkward? Yes! But as long as you communicate with each other and keep work and relationship separate, I see no problem. At work, he’s my coworker not my boyfriend and I treat him as I would a normal coworker.

Your other coworkers could potentially see it as a problem (like one of my shifts who closes with him a lot does) but if you keep it professional, you do you.
