I gotta be honest with you guys, those Keto diet drinks always sound disgusting. They can’t be good for your arteries either... (self.starbucksbaristas)

I’ve had someone who’s been ordering Frappuccinos with heavy whipping cream instead of whole milk and sugar free cinnamon dolce syrup lately. I want to gag so hard every time.
ashproctor 10 points 3y ago
Honestly, I love the Frappuccinos with hc. It makes it more ice-creamy.
surg3v1 2 points 3y ago
I’ll have to try. But the sugar free dolce just instantly makes me think “oh em gee it’s sugar free so it has to be keto”, even though they aren’t actually following it correctly thoughts.
angrybreadsticks 2 points 3y ago
I’ve been meaning to try heavy cream in a frap instead of whole milk. Probably makes it a good consistency, and it’s not like there’s much milk anyways unless it’s a venti.

This lady asked me today for bacon egg bites not warmed for her keto diet... I was disgusted but curious if she was just gonna eat them cold 🤢
[deleted] [OP] 13 points 3y ago
Wait... what does the warmth have to do with the fat/calories? It contains the same amount... both ways...
MonstrousGiggling 6 points 3y ago
Yea its nonsense I'm pretty sure. They're already cooked it's just reheating them.
deevandiacle 3 points 3y ago
Heating can break down the proteins and make them bioavailable instead of just... passing through. Thus, higher caloric content.

But for Starbucks food I doubt it makes any difference in aggregate.
extracrunchies 6 points 3y ago
We're not allowed to serve sandwiches and stuff unwarmed though.

I 100% agree! Recently I’ve had multiple different customers just come up to me without any sort of recipe or drink order, tell me they’re keto and then wait for me to name literally every kind of drink I can make keto for them which I find very annoying
coolcat411 7 points 3y ago
Keto was designed for children who suffer from epilepsy, and it’s pretty much bullshit as a weight-loss strategy. It kicks your body into ketosis (which also happens when you’re extremely malnourished, like with eating disorders) and can kill you.

I hate keto drinks lol
PEMoran86 4 points 3y ago
Keto is awful. It's just a way to rationalize having a high fat diet while also losingv weight. Keto-acidosis is NOT good for you.
CriticalSheep 3 points 3y ago
Ketoacidosis is not good for you. Ketosis is fine. Big difference.

“Can I get a pound of butter in my coffee it’s keto it’s healthy”
Hereloff 1 points 3y ago
Keto drinks?? Where do y'all live?!
[deleted] [OP] 1 points 3y ago
The US
Hereloff 0 points 3y ago
I'm in KY and have never had a customer ask for a keto drink
[deleted] [OP] 1 points 3y ago
Well they normally won’t straight up say keto drink. It’s usually things like Pink Drinks with heavy cream, or anything with heavy cream for that matter. Look up keto diet and you’ll have a better understanding, I’m not really sure how to explain it. I just know it has something to do with fats and sending your body into ketosis
