All my ASMs have been internal and happiest on bar. Only one of them has been truly good at it, the other two take shortcuts and are pretty messy.

Our whole team has worked up from barista besides one shift who has been there for nine years, so she learned bar as she went lmao. Even our DM has had to bar at some points, I can’t imagine higher management not knowing how to do what keeps the entire business running. It’s such a strange thing that they allow that honestly? You think at some point they would realize that partner happiness=customer happiness/connection and that partners working under people that actually _understand_ the job of barista makes for a better work environment overall. The SMs barking about drive through times and constantly severely understaffing for rushes are usually the ones that have never been in those positions and it makes me lose my mind.

No, my asm is like 2 months (?) new to our store. she’s very corrective and pushy but she knows was she’s doing so it’s like fine that she’s not ignorant but..........a little annoying and everyone gets a little lost lol
