Frappucinos in personal cups (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by julesoo
When someone orders a frap in a personal cup, I still measure the frap roast and milk in a disposable cup b4 dumping into the blender. Question is: can I just rinse the disposable cup and use it again for another drink or do I have to throw it away?

Sounds like a serious health code violation due to allergens and stuff

Absolutely not. This is a health code violation and if you get caught, especially if QASA is there auditing, your store can get in serious trouble.

Yeah if you use that cup at all you have to throw it away after.

Unfortunately our cups are single use only so once it's been used we have to throw it away. It's the same reason we aren't technically supposed to do refills in the same cup anymore🙄

Our store used to have a hard plastic measuring cup (basically similar to the bottom of the tea shaker) which had all the lines for measuring personal cup drinks.

From an allergen standpoint, I think reusing the cup is fine since using a measuring cup would basically have the same cross contamination. It's moreso the aspect of the disposable cups are not designed for reuse so shouldn't be washed and reused imo.

No clue what the protocol is for this, but I always do that and have never got shit for it—even from super strict Supervisors. Save the turtles ;)

I don’t think it’s much different than rinsing the shaker or the blender after each use

Use a refresher shaker! The juice line is the same as the bottom line on each size of cup!

Take a shaker and use water to measure where the cup lines would go on the shaker and use a Sharpie to draw the lines. Hope it makes sense

Order a measuring cup it's that easy

Honestly I just eyeball it in the blender. It’s not exact but the whole point is to not waste a plastic cup.

Doesn’t Starbucks have frap measuring cups? I don’t work at a corporate Starbucks but I thought I’ve seen/heard of them. But yea, throw the cup away.
