i wish i fully understood this last week when i was vomiting on and off w a fever for days and my sm told me to find my own cover if i didn’t wanna come in and then i worked all week bc i couldn’t find anyone and ended up having a seizure and literally having to call out one day and i let her scream at me the next morning for “bothering her” by contacting her twice that week asking for help already bc i was sick (which she doesn’t believe)

But, it is a nice act if you’re able to text your fellow coworkers and ask. You’re not required to come in to work if you don’t find coverage by any means, but it’s nice when someone shows up in your absence nonetheless.

I always just tell them to feel better and rest BUT ask if they happen to know any fellow baristas that need hours 🤷🏻‍♀️
