Is it bad that my Starbucks still doesn’t let me do bar yet and I feel pretty confident with what I’m doing on bar. I’ve almost been at Starbucks for a year. And I still am not able to make drinks however some of the partners that have been at my Starbucks for about four to five months or less are already in bar. I’m feeling really frustrated and unappreciated.

Be assertive about it. Tell your manager over and over you want to do bar. I too wasn’t put on bar until 6 months in, they put me on register for the longest time because of my customer service skills and the extra tips we were making (which is a nice compliment, but I was so burnt out on register).

Yeah the only thing they'll put me n is customer support and drive-thru so it's really repetitive and can get quite frustrating

I understand your frustration and I don't agree with not letting you branch out. I will however say that it's more impressive to be a good customer support over a good bar partner, in my humble opinion.

So good on you for being a customer support pick, cuz I wont put people on customer support that can't get shit done.

That's wild they had me trained on bar the first week and like the 2nd week they threw me on during shifts but Not often. I was a line cook though so kinda similar experience and they knew that. It still stresses me out being watched though.

I didn't get to even learn bar until about 6 months in. I had no practice whatsoever until that point 🤷 then we got a huge batch of newbies, which since we're a decently slow store we don't need to have a perfect bar person, but we still reserved certain times (especially peak) for our best bars. You will get your chance, but especially if you ask for opportunities to show that you can be one bar, then your manager will start giving you time! Good luck dood

have you discussed with your manager your desire to be given time on bar?

I’ve recently started to ask if I can bar. But I’m still working on proving myself.
