After a little over a year, I’ve put in my two weeks. (self.starbucksbaristas)

I had a great run. I made a lot of new friends. But the way things are going now with the labor cuts and with a manager that will not listen to our issues I cannot continue doing this job anymore, for the sake of my own mental health.

Doing the same soon.

I’m almost up to 7. its a cycle. The worst labor cuts are from feb- after Easter. Then summer it goes back up. Every time I feel that way I transfer lol and honestly it’s so refreshing. I am on my third store. This job is crazy lol. I hope you find happiness we all deserve that! Good luck!

Does transferring help?
mcr0414 2 points 3y ago
For me it does. Switching stores is always difficult at the beginning trying to find everything and getting to know new partners and the customers ( I don’t know if you have at all, transferred) but I always fell myself to give it one full month before determining if transferring was a mistake and always after a month I’m happier than I was. :)

Do you think that they do this cyclically on purpose, like”let’s do labor cuts and get rid of some stale eggs”?
StormTheParade 2 points 3y ago
Cyclically with the rise and fall of business, yes. To cut out burnt out partners? No. Store Managers have other means of doing that, like redistributing hours to force someone to quit.

That’s true about redistribution of hours to get partners to quit.

Unfortunately... It shouldn't be okay, but it happens and it isn't punishable
