One of my first managers told me something that has stuck with me through 4 stores: Dont sweat the small stuff. You're gonna have a lot of great days and a lot of not so great days. Dont let the not so great moments ruin your stride. Be confident as a barista and when something may not go the right way, roll with the punches as best you can. Sbux isn't for everyone but if you dont hold on to the rough patches you're gonna do great and feel a lot better about your work! Good luck and may the siren grant you wonderful shifts:)

People will correct you and that’s because when you do something wrong it slows a lot of different processes down. Each position relies on the other to be doing their job. Front manages coffee so drive thru order doesn’t have to think about brewing and can just bust out coffees. Food has to run to drive thru and cafe. Drive thru has to hand off mobile orders and deliveries to bar otherwise customers and delivery guys will be waiting.
If someone takes over a job for you it’s not an insult. I got moved off bar on peak many times back onto front or food because I don’t have the speed to pump out that many drinks. I got moved to drive thru on peak because I did the best out of everyone working that shift even though I’m still only 5 months in.
If someone looks frustrated it’s because everyone on the floor is running around trying to keep up. They aren’t necessarily frustrated at you.
My manager has forgotten to brew coffee.
My ASM has dropped an entire pitcher of sweet cream before.
People working for years have handed out wrong coffees, or dropped an entire box of coffee beans.. it happens.
You just have to know how to fix it and move on.
The first time I dropped beans I was HORRIFIED.
