Was there some sort of tiktok or something telling kids that ordering a venti water with 10 pumps of syrup is "delicious" and only 50 cents? Cause I have a group of kids who come in and order 4 or more of these monstrosities. I swear we've gone through more raspberry syrup than normal. I want to cut them off after they buy like 5 but we can't do that. Anyone else having this issue?

Ring as custom iced tea next time. There was a weekly update addressing this a few months ago, so there ya go

yeah custom iced tea usually shuts them right up when you tell them it’s like $4 instead of fifty cents.

Unpopular opinion: if you don’t buy anything else, water shouldn’t be free. We have far too many people come in our store and ask for water as surrounding businesses don’t give away water cups anymore and they come get it from us, pour it out and run next door to Arby’s and Burger King to get pop.

In Canada water in a protected right. So you can go into any store of any kind and ask for a tap water with ice and it’s either free or you pay for the cup in some places (usually universities) so we can’t stop them here

I’m in the mean USA. Water isn’t necessarily protected here, but places can charge you for the cup but not the water itself. It even said when I worked at McDonald’s if you ordered a water “cup fee” which had the 5 cents or 10 cents next to it. I think Starbucks should do that because there’s a ton of homeless people who come in our store regularly that we have to kick out as they’re “showering” in our bathrooms. They come in and ask for venti waters and nut packets for the oatmeal, and bother customers for money and steal our tip jar. They’ll also just ask us for cups, and take the cups to restaurants surrounding ours and go in there; not buy anything and get pop/soda. We had an Arby’s manager from the Arby’s next door come in and get a latte and she informed my Sm of this

The weekly update said to charge as a custom iced tea. We can stop them because water is a protected right, not water with ten pumps of raspberry syrup.

I was referring to water on its own.

You have to now charge that as a custom ice tea

I had a kid that came in and asked for 12 pumps raspberry in a tall cup.
