Where the heck do customers take the surveys?!(self.starbucksbaristas)

So my location is fairly new and our customer connection score needs improvement. We’ve been told time and time again that the surveys can be found on the app when the add tip/receipt icon pops up. We’ve asked customers to show us and even tried on our own apps, but we CANNOT find that gosh darn survey! Can someone please help us locate it!!!

Randomly. I’ve bought something at least 2-3 times a week for the past 3 years and I’ve gotten the survey maybe 5 times total.

As a consistent regular at Starbucks even before I started working for them, I’ve known and been told that they go randomly (and the theory is that they actually go to the people that mobile order through the app) to the customers to the emails they have on file through their Starbucks app. It has never been in the actual app itself that I’ve ever seen. And I’m very familiar with the app.

But even if the theory isn’t true for surveys going out to mobile order customers the most, one way to help is to make sure your making mobile order connections a very big priority. Mainly because I think it’s common to assume that you make the drink and just let them pick it up and your job is done and nothing else is needed. But what I try to do (and it’s not always easy) is to remember as best as possible names on the orders. So when they come I’ll ask their name when they’re just even looking for their cup. This is after I greet them and ask how they’re doing. And when they find it, I make sure to say things like “have a nice day, Ben!” And try to use their name in that closing sentiment. Because a customer connection is making them feel as if “we’ve gotten to know them.” And matter of fact that’s a question on the survey. And that interaction is a quick one. So you have to find ways to quickly connect effectively. So that’s one way that you can. But acknowledging their name/who they are, therefore making it personal.
