Premade Travelers (self.starbucksbaristas)

got to work at 8:30, busy morning but we’re doing okay, i’m on front register. twenty minutes in a woman comes in and sees another customer leaving with her traveler that she pre ordered, and asks for one of them. i tell her it’s going to be a little bit of a wait, since we have to brew the coffee for it. she starts getting huffy with me, saying “you don’t already have them made? i have a meeting to get to and i’m bringing the coffee.” “no ma’am, they’re made to order, i’d be more than happy to make you one, it’s just going to take a bit.” “this is ridiculous, just give me eight medium hot coffees and cream on the side.”

in what world would we just prepare travelers to sit on the counter and get cold? she then proceeded to bitch about how long it was taking to pour the coffees, i feel bad for the people she works with

to this day these kind of people have me so confused like ... you can buy a coffee maker at walmart and ... not? harass me??

i had a guy come in and try to order a traveler an hour before close and i said it wasn’t a problem but that it would take about 10-15min and he said he thought we had just had them ready to go in the fridge 🧐 and when i explained we had to brew them he said nothing and walked out 🙃

she looked like she worked in an office too, like does you office not have a coffee maker? i worked at a retail shop in a mall before this and even in our tiny back room we had a little three cup coffee maker and would regularly make coffee for each other/bring in bags of coffee to have at the shop

One day during peak w two call outs a guy walked up to my register and asked for 2 travelers. Due to our lack of staff I said it would be about 30 minutes, he got huffy so I asked my SSV who was rushing on food and she said 45 minutes so I told him again that she said 30. He looked me dead in the eye and said “15” like it was up for negotiation! When I told him I could do 30 he got mad and walked out

I had someone order a traveller during peak in the drive thru once and then got upset when I told her it would be 10-15 mins and she’d have to come inside to pick it up. Apparently she had to “be somewhere in 10 mins”. Like lady... just phone us and preorder!!!!!!

Funny you post this because we had a very nice lady today ask for a traveler. It was busy and I told her it’ll take 20 minutes to make and she said “well that sucks. If I buy a bag of coffee can you grind it for me?” And I did. She also bought a ton of lemon loaf and bagels and cream cheese and didn’t ask for the bagels to be toasted. She also tipped $5 :)). Her total was close to $55

i love customers like that! i had another woman a little after this first one order like three sandwiches and some loaves and we were already trying to play catch-up with food, and she said she didn’t need any of it warmed that she would pop it in the toaster oven when she got home, was okay with me leaving it in the plastic baggies and just popping them in a handle bag, it was so pleasant
