Seeking advice on not being able to get a shift covered.(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Joenathanishere
So I’ve been asking around to get my shift covered tomorrow for nearly a week. I’ve asked my store’s text group twice, and I’ve posted in my local Fbook shift cover page days ago, but I haven’t had one person say they can take my shift. What are the repercussions of just not arriving to my shift, or are there any other routes I can take?

Change your identity and run away to Canada. It is the only way.

if its still two hours before and you have the sick hours - CALL OUT
say you’re not going to be able to come in today and at that point you’ve done what you were supposed to
in fact, finding sick coverage isn’t even required its a courtesy and “recommended” by policy but if you call out sick beforehand you aren’t required to get coverage
– do expect people to talk shit but you shouldn’t be written up for calling out

You’ll get written up- that means you can’t transfer and it might be harder to get rehired if you quit and try to come back.

For one call out? That’s a very strict policy.
At our licensed store, you can call out 6x and be late 7 before we start the disciplinarian process.

We had a partner at my old store rack up like 20 no call no shows before he was finally fired

I meant for not calling out and just not showing up to shift. For call outs, refer to PCC standards and/or your managers rules.

Everyone always talks about partners talking shit about coworkers calling out, but I’ve never seen that at my store? The only exception was a repeated no-call-no-show offender but even then we were more concerned than salty.
