as soon as they pull out the app or their card I just don’t bother ringing it up. it’s free anyways and it saves me thirty seconds, and they’re always very appreciative (for some reason). anyone else do this?

My SM wants us to ring those up because they count as customer transactions. And those are part of how some algorithm decides how much labor we get.

Overtime, that skews and screws with you inventory and labor calculations. Particularly, if everyone at your store is doing it. Always ring up customers correctly. Otherwise, you could be potentially cheating yourself out of extra coverage, etc.

No. It messes up inventory and labor. Also just cause they have the app doesn’t mean it’s free, only if they’re gold card members.

If you're a gold member you get an MSR refill which is free which the gold card. I ring up every transaction including the refills. However. I work at a kiosk Starbucks.

As mentioned above, the amount of labour hours given to the store is based off customer count.
Definitely ring through every refill as that is more labour for your store! More labour=more hours for you and your coworkers, and more bodies on the floor during peak periods.

Not with the gold card. Once you scan their app or swipe their card, it zeros out. Its free.

I believe they changed it almost a year ago. All Starbucks members are now considered ‘gold’. Aka you get any of the benefits regardless if you’re a fresh account or someone going to starbucks daily for years.
The only reminder of the old gold is the physical cards if you got one of them.

It’s free for all registered cards now. Gold is no longer a thing. If a customer had a gold card before the change, it’ll still show up as gold, but there’s no new gold cards since the switch.
