in my third week, i had this one customer walk up to the bar and watch me make his drink. he asked how long i had been there and said “i can tell you’re new because you were counting the pumps while you pumped them” ??? fucking creepo. he then asked if i knew how to do each step as i was making the drink and kept looking to make sure i knew what i was doing. (it was a venti peppermint mocha with no foam (lol), extra hot.)

I work in a Tarbucks and my store manager only had 1 person (me) scheduled to work 12:30-4 today, a Saturday (literally busiest day/time of the week in Target) and there were like 10 people in line all staring me down while I was making drinks and then there was like a family of 4 leaning over the counter staring at me and mom's being like "ooo watch her make the drink!" I'm like Karen did you not teach your kids that staring is rude

Trust me you'd rather our kids watch you then be fucking annoying and yelling haha. I have a toddler, you have to direct their attention places or they get restless.

Like I get people wonder how the drinks are made but they just like stare me down like I'm some kind of show at a circus and it makes me feel so uncomfortable

I understand that feeling. When I worked, customers would come in during peak and stand in line and stare. Like I’d be working on bar and they would like be starting at me and it always made me feel awkward, like what do I do smile, nod, ignore? If I would acknowledge them they would sometimes look away like, wtf?

I don’t mind if people watch me but it’s super weird that people stare the WHOLE time waiting for their drink and don’t say a single word.

I also get really awkward but I had a lady comment about how beautiful my pour was and I don't even do art. It made me feel good that she could appreciate a good quality pour/microfoam on her latte.

I’ve had to ask customers to stop filming me while I work and found pictures of me working on the google review page for my store, I’m not a monkey!!!!! I’m a human :-(
