Don’t worry friend, the new mastrenas are amazing and I’m hoping your store gets them soon! Once you get them like 90% of the problems go away :)

Fingers crossed! I work at a corporate store (or two) and neither have the new ones yet. I ALSO work at a franchise location (which is where I’m at at the moment) and I bet we won’t get one for a long LONG time considering the store is probably less than 5 years old

Ours still never work. I get water flow errors every other day. I'll let it auto calibrate and that won't fix my pull times. Techs don't know why they keep breaking down. At least before I could calibrate them myself, now I gotta pull 30+ shots to see if it makes a diff.

When you adjust the shot clicky thing make sure you run like 3 or 4 shots through it for it to fully adjust. Don’t make adjustments every reading. Look forward to mastrena 2s where this is no longer a thing

Oh yeah I definitely don’t adjust every reading. I actually didn’t adjust it but once when it told me to, just pulling the three shots at a time would make the machine kinda figure it out on its own? I don’t know it gives me a headache. Also, yes. I can’t wait to get to use the mastrena 2!

Ours used to do this. I called them possessed. We got mastrena IIs two weeks ago and it’s been heaven ever since.

ON NOOOO lol I would be dying. I’m so impatient that when it’s off a lot I’ll notice I’m standing there fidgeting waiting lol. Plus the shots would be gross I guess but that kinda takes second to my annoyed fidgeting lol

Oh dude I was so mad. I was staring and went off came back and they’d finally finished and I stared at my shift, who’d just put me on bar, and asked if he’d made any drinks yet. He had. I squinted and asked if he was curious why they took so long. I got it down to 35 and he said that was fine.

i got lucky enough to only have to use the mastreno I for a week. they upgrade to the II the week after i started. can confidently say i have no idea what the hell is on that screen

Lol I only know what like half of it means to be honest. From left to right it goes shot number, what kind of shot, shot pull time, something, something, I think water quality?, and temp.

Ours was swinging wildly like this, then completely stopped.
I asked the technician what happened and he showed me the broken spring. He said when it swings like that, it can be a warning sign that the compression spring is about to fail. I think he said the powder from the grounds gets into the chamber with the piston, and the piston starts jamming. Sometimes it pushes all the way in, and other times it gets stuck out. Eventually the spring is so stressed that it breaks.
But then we had the swinging again a few months later and that tech said the piston pusher was getting scratched on the sides and wasn’t making a good deal to push properly? Supposedly he replaced it. But then the machine failed again the next day. So maybe that wasn’t it. I don’t know how it got fixed the next day because I wasn’t there when the tech came.

Lol unless you’re in Missouri and happen to be an invisible partner that likes to sit there and laugh at my pain... it’s unlikely lol. when I’m at the franchise store (which is where this was) I get to work all by myself

At one store I visited, theirs was at 9. Every dang time. I for the life of me couldn’t get it up past 14.
But THIS machine.. I got it calibrated and was pumped. Now it’s back to doing the up and down thing and I have no idea why. I’m only pulling the two shots at a time so it’s not that I’m pulling singles or anything

So little under a year ago our store switched locations and they moved us to a drive thru store, we used to be a cafe and our old manager kept our old need to go to the farm mechanines claiming we'd get the twos quicker because of this and now they say maybe by early 2021 we'll get them and honestly it's a struggle every day to keep them calibrated
