hey everyone I want to go full-time at Starbucks but I called and I don’t think that you can you could only really work up to 38 hours how do I go about asking my manager if I can get up to 38 hours a week I really need the money.

I mean, besides just talking to them about it, having totally open availability will be your best bet.

Just tell them, hey, I'm really interested in increasing my hours and I have open availability so I'd be able to work any shift.

Maybe throw in a bit about wanting to expand your role as well so you're also interested in learning how to actually *fill* all the different roles as well.

Just be honest about it, and be open to working your way up to ft time slowly increasing your weekly hrs up to that if that's all that's available atm.

Good luck!

Have an honest conversation with your SM who is hopefully able to bump your hours up a bit. Normally though (at least where I’m from) baristas rarely make it to 30 hours a week because of all the partners that also need hours.
My advice would be to go to all the other stores in your district you can get to and leave your name and number. You should be able to pick up a lot of shifts with all the call outs that way and make your way 40 hours a week and possible overtime ! :)

Everybody at my store just picks up shifts till they hit their 40.
