Thank you for choosing Starbucks what can we get started for you today? Customer: uhh it’s gonna be a mobile order for Erica but I’m still working on it ???? *sigh* Ok, just wait behind everyone else’s drive thru orders that are gonna pile up now and won’t be able to distribute because you’re blocking

One tiny thing that bugs me is mobile order pops out as soon as we open lol

OMG this is the worst. I opened the other day and as soon as we opened the printer spit out like 8 drinks. Then the person didn't come for like an hour so they just like sat there and when they showed up they pitched a fit about how the hot drinks were cold and their ice was melted and their frapps "looked disgusting". So of course we had to remake everything while they sat there and like complained about us on the phone to someone saying shit like "i'm gonna be late cause they f'd up the order, so now they HAVE to remake them all"
like fuck you man, leave!!

Stupid as fuck, lol people don’t think or read that’s the two things I’ve learned working here

That’s why I honestly believe we shouldn’t have mobile ordering. Even for non annoying customers, it’s going to melt if it’s iced or a frappuccino and it’s going to get cold if it’s hot. If it doesn’t, then you could’ve waited in line to order and it’d come out fresh

today someone literally ordered a venti iced carm macchiato, with no ice. they came AN HOUR later to pick it up through the drive thru. then, about 10 min later, they come into the lobby, angry bc their drink is gross. well no shit! first of all you asked for it with no ice! and secondly, it’s been sitting out for so long that it’s now basically room temperature milk!! but of course we had to remake it and it was our fault. smh

Okay, so our store is a kiosk and we don't get mobile orders. What would be stopping me from putting a no ice mobile drink in the fridge just on principle? Would people get mad it wasn't sitting out? Really just curious about this, I'd have a problem allowing milk drinks to sit out until people felt like coming in to get them.

It's more that we don't usually have room to safely and securely store it and also handle cafe, drive and other mobile orders. It's a lovely idea and sentiment but it would be difficult to effectively manage on a busy floor that's maybe down a few people. Most days when I make a drink. After I call it out. It's our of sight out of mind.
But Also we aren't allowed to leave then sitting over an hour. If we catch that we dump it and deal with it when the owner comes in.

That makes sense.

Hahah same here a lady ordered an iced grn tea latte with whipped cream mobile literally an hour later she picks it up and is mad that it’s watered down and demands we remake it like umm yeah it’s gunna be watered down it was sitting their for an hour

We had a lady a few weeks back mobile order a cappuccino... came in just about 2 hours later and got upset because “it’s not full and there’s no foam?!” And threw a hissy fit when I explained that foam settles.

another thing that annoys me is that there are two starbucks locations on the same street, mine being one of them. people come in super angry constantly bc they placed a mobile 20 min ago and it still isn’t ready. they pull up their order just for me to see that they placed it to the OTHER store and came to the wrong one. and then they still get mad at ME as if it’s MY fault. tf.

It’s heading over the headset “mobile order.... 1 of 8” then you hear the ping at drive thru and it’s the fkn customer.
We also have one guy who orders a flat white every day and we know who it is and we know we have to act fast due to him coming straight to the store after ordering. Ure supposed to wait nine minutes but he’s a nice guy so I can’t be annoyed lol
