What does a salted caramel mocha contain? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by AwkwardAkakado
A coworker of mine was requested by a lady to do a salted caramel mocha. Once done, she was then lectured by the lady that it doesn’t get mocha. Even more concerning is that she said in every other Starbucks she’s gone never put mocha in it. And I thought, “what better judges than the SB baristas on reddit.”

Its mocha and toffeenut with whip, caramel drizzle, and sea salt sugar topping

To be fair, I DO find it interesting that caramel is also in the name and only there as a drizzle.

Same with caramel apple spice

It literally has mocha in the name.

I assume by her logic, the word is just there as a decoration

One thing I’ve noticed is people will say “every other starbucks does it” when in fact, they actually don’t. Ignorant people will say anything to try to prove their point! The only thing I can come up with, is some people split the pumps and some do full pumps of each syrup. So one person may make an extremely chocolatey salted caramel mocha, and another may make it half as sweet.

This has happened to me before.. I asked her exactly what she wanted before I started a the drink. She said a creme based salted caramel mocha... no mocha and extra salt. So I made it how she asked and I thought she would’ve came back to complain but she didn’t... I’m just like wtfff

In my experience sometimes customers will try to order a "salted caramel latte" and are confused when I ask them if they mean a salted caramel mocha. Idk why this particular drink seems to be confusing for customers, maybe there's a drink somewhere else with a similar name?
