Today a lady got upset because we wouldn’t do a pour over refill. I told her that pour overs weren’t available as a refill but I could give her pike. She told me that she only wanted a pour over because we’re supposed to have 2 coffees brewed and we only have pike. I explained that the company tells us to stop brewing dark and blonde at 10 am.
Does anyone give pour over refills? Was I being too strict?

I remember reading that we weren’t supposed to do it

We’re not. My manager is very strict on refill policies.

My take is why should someone be denied of a benefit that comes with being a rewards member (so something that they’re entitled to) just because we don’t have the coffee that they like on?

We only do pour over refills for the regulars who are nice about it, we aren’t usually supposed to though

Really? Pour over coffees isn’t a refill thing?

I mean it’s more labor intensive than a regular coffee. I spoke to my manager and he said not to give pour overs as refill.
Plus if the company wanted us to do pour over refills wouldn’t there be a button for it.

Also true. But I would have through it would just be a hot coffee refill but I guess not. You learn something new everyday

It’s times like this I am glad I do not work in the food industry. Customers seem to reee extra hard about food. Much more than any other product.
