at least in my store, there's usually not enough staff, so front register is also grabbing food for both drive and lobby. Food, front, AND brewing would be a nightmare.

My store is set up so that after peak, whoever is on cafe reg is usually in charge of barring their own drinks and keeping the brewed coffee fresh.
They’ve been innovating lately though, and on top of this trying to run like a 3 person play in the afternoon. It makes me rage.

My store is in “permanent go mode” lol found out at a meeting where they had to bring up go mode and everyone asked, so what would change? Our SM said that we’re just always there.

Go mode is dumb, CS is the worst position to cut, also the idea of stock stations is also dumb.
I'll cut my self down to a 2man before I give up CS. W/o a cs you just put everything onto the closers.
Crazy idea....why not give stores the labor to adequately staff so that all core playbook roles are filled.

I think stock stations work for certain things - I can take 15 seconds (sometimes) to turn around and grab a new syrup or sleeve of Grande cups if needed; if I had to run to the back, it’d be more like 3-5 minutes - but for other restocks that require more care and attention, like refilling the Mastrena hoppers, it’s a NG until we have a Support person.

I work at a store with a cafe/drive through. The majority of our business after 4:30pm is D/T. I am generally the closing shift.
When I am Shift, I take over brewing coffee and food. My partners have enough to do with DT/DTO and Bar. I make it work so they can focus on customers.

44 to 50k store a week and we run peak with 8 part coverage there would be no way for one of the bars to do cafe sweeps nor for the other bar to brew coffee ... that's hilarious

When they introduced that Go Mode thing and I was suddenly being expected to do POS, brewing, and bar, despite never getting shifts on bar and thus having very little experience with it, I was just like uh. Then I got in a bunch of trouble when I couldn't handle it because it meant I couldn't do my job. But like that wasn't my job until they introduced that. I dunno I'm still salty I guess. I did a lot of crying at Starbucks lol.

It’s a real thing at my store. Though it rarely works out cause as soon as it begins to become busy someone else has to cover for the bar position lol. Really messes with the floor set up

Usually when I’m the shift in duty, I put myself in CS, DTO, or POS to make sure I can control that. I wouldn’t ask any partner to do cafe bar and brewing; it’s too much :(
