Thinking about quitting (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by hexsan91
My manager seems to think I call out of shifts or give them away every week, but according to my own records I’ve only called out twice and given one shift away this year thus far. They got pretty angry with me about it and even went as far as threatening termination. I found another job that pays a little under $2 more per hour than I’m currently earning now but with no benefits. Can’t figure out what to do right now.

Any advice, thoughts, or suggestions would be appreciated. And for those working today, good luck during happy hour!

Transition your availability to just a little OVER what u need for your benefits i believe its 20hrs a week. Then work at your other job as muchbas possible. Its tought but its two incones and benefits, plus i believe benefit eligibility is calculated every couple of months on an average so you could take time to situate yourself at job two training and such and then back to bux just enough to keep everything.

I second this so hard. The benefits are great but you need to prioritise yourself. This is a great idea. Hopefully if you get that job your coworkers are great!! I believe in you!

There’s a girl at my store that will only work every Tuesday nights for clean play to keep her benefits while she works a regular 9-5 job!! I’ve learned that not every store has the clean play though lol
