Coronavirus and Personal Cups(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by MsMeggers
Is anyone else’s store doing this? Starting today our store is not accepting personal cups due to the coronavirus spreading. We are not allowed to accept any personal cups for drinks and if a customer would like their drink in their own cup, we can give them a paper/plastic cup and they can pour it in themselves. We can still give them the discount though.
We are also required to wash our hands every 30 minutes.
Is this a National thing? Is anyone else doing it?

I’m at a store in a mall and we’re doing this. I’m taking it serious because the mall is in the perfect spot for tourists and people in other countries to come buy. I’ve been ill 3 times in the past 10 months and now I’m sick again...

Yeah I live in a popular town for tourists and we get people from all over the world. I just got over pneumonia so I’m trying really hard not to get sick. Unfortunately I also work in an ER so the chance of getting something is a lot higher for me :(

It’s national. You can look up CNN and other news sites with articles about Starbucks not taking the personal cups. Idk if it’s only American stores though

Check Partner Hub, store communications update tab. They have a thread they’ve been updating regarding precautions for the coronavirus.
