Had an older lady come through DT when I was on DTO and ordered a regular latte. I ask her what size, and she tells me grande. At this point you could hear her getting frustrated. I then ask if she wants any flavoring and she said no. Then the kicker, I ask if it’s hot or iced. Standard question, right? Wrong. She then flips out calling me an idiot because she obviously wants it hot, why would I ask her that, and do I even know how to do my job? As she’s cursing me out, my SSV gets on the headset to apologize and let her know it’s a standard question that we all have to ask, since she didn’t say a hot latte when she was ordering.
She calms down somewhat and drives up to the window, though not before telling my SSV that I need to be trained better 🤷🏻♀️ I hand her her drink, which she then looks at with complete disgust. She tells me she ordered a venti not a grande. At this point I’m just trying to get her out of there. I tell her sorry, we can definitely make it a venti, I just have to charge her the difference since I had rung it up as a grande. She huffs at me and tells me it’s fine, she’ll take the grande. As I hand her her change she then takes a sip and yells that she wanted vanilla in it. I then offer to put vanilla but she gets angry, says she will be talking to my SM, and drives off.
Sometimes I question customers and their sanity..
