I’m really not gonna lie I kinda almost quit last week.
I work at an extremely busy store and we got roughly 90 customers an hour. One day last week I swear we got double that during our rush. We were behind like 30 minutes because we had someone quit and one person call out which didn’t help at all. There was so many people that were so rude about it too but like if you see that there’s barely enough room to walk, maybe don’t order your coffee or even just like expect a wait yknow. But anyway this one guy stared me down the entire time right in front of the espresso machine and I usually can handle these situation pretty well but for some reason this gave me extreme anxiety and I was literally tearing up on bar. I felt so bad because my shift was like do you need to go to the back for a second and I stuck it out till we were caught up but ngl people are so rude and invasive when it comes to their coffee like how entitled can you be.

I think customers forget sometimes that we’re only human. We can’t make 20 drinks at a time and still make sure everything is clean and have a chance to talk to them. I’m almost dreading the festival season coming our way because it’s gonna be a bunch of younger people being rude and a bunch of older people being obnoxious because there’s a line of drinks and they have to wait longer than usual. I feel your pain my fellow barista

That’s exactly how my store is, and last week I wanted to quit so bad. I still do tbh.
