Hi,
I’m still kind of a green bean, (282****), who started in October. I got the job so I could make money during my gap year. A position opened up for a DREAM job of mine. I need three references to apply and I have a bit of anxiety of asking my SM to be a reference.
My SM has been talking about promoting me to trainer or SSV, which I have respectfully declined numerous times, and knows about my plans of a different career. I’m just a bit anxious about asking him to be a reference bc I don’t want to let them down. Obviously, there’s a chance I won’t get the job, but I am qualified for it.
Any advice on how to approach this?

I was always told your SM can only confirm or deny that you work there.

As long as you are able to give a notice, your SM will/should not have any problem with that. It’d take a jerk to fault someone from trying to better themselves. Especially if it’s your dream job!! Good luck!!
