Partner card question (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by lunaflect
Can I scan my partner card instead of telling the cashier my partner number when getting the beverage mark out (free drinks on the clock)? This would speed up the process so much.

Basically, you can scan it anytime anyone asks for your numbers. I do that all the time.

Yeah I do too. I’m pretty sure I’ve successfully done this for the markout, as well as partner food and discount when not working. The key is you have to ask them to push the discount/partner food/markout button. It won’t be applied automatically. But you won’t have to tell them your numbers.

Yeah I just tried to do it before I left and the cashier got all confused and it charged me with discount. Wah-wah

That’s what I thought. I was just told by a shift leader that it only works when you pay with the discount. Not for the mark outs. Lol I’m gonna make them try the card next time.

Technically youre NEVER supposed to verbally tell your partner number, cause anyone can hear it and try to use it.

It is company policy that the card is shown EVERY time. Wether it be the paper card SM makes you first day, or the one SB mails to you, or the app version.

Edit:spellin lol

I thought policy was for them to say it and then we ask for ID to confirm? (not that anyone does anyway)

I have a coworker who uses his physical partner card. He never says it out loud.
