Coffee paring? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by justbrowsingmydude_
What’s a good paring for a coffee tasting? I have one next week with my DM

I did a lemon loaf with the sirens blend with some light mocha drizzle. I feel that they went really well together because it brought out the citrus and chocolate under notes of the coffee.

Well it depends, what kind of coffee are you wanting with the pairing? Or what kind of food? Something sweet, maybe a little savory?

I was going to try and pair dark roast with something sweet

There are so many ways to go. Verona is potentially the easiest dark roast for pairing since it has cocoa in both the taste and the aroma. Which can go amp that up with something chocolate - say chocolate chip cookies. Or bring in something like a tiramisu from a local patisserie. Italian sees more success with a buttery pairing, which you can go in an unexpected direction with something savory - say some nice sourdough slices with super buttery cheese. The Asian line - Komodo and Sumatra is super earthy and herbal, which then calls for a savory pairing for something unexpected. If it’s herbal, again you can go for high fat content stuffs since fat is known as an aroma carrier (that’s why fried food smells so good to us) Hope this gets your wheels turning. Good luck! Don’t forget to have fun!
