DTO during morning peak is a very demanding job. i am very introverted and one of my DTW partners is very much extroverted. she is also super psycho about our DT times. i’m almost five months into the job so DTO is becoming a lot easier for me, BUT, my DTW partner is making it harder for me.

my SM has been nagging me to start calling out which orders are coming up next/at the window, which i normally do when my normal DTW partner ISN’T there. she ALWAYS calls out the drinks before i can even open my mouth to do so or while i’m taking other people’s orders (which customers can hear her yelling about drinks from the order box). and i also don’t want to repeat the same thing to the bar partners since i know emotions can run high during peak. i also wouldn’t care about it if my SM wasn’t on my ass about it OR the DTW partner at least called out the RIGHT drinks at the RIGHT time.

the DTW partner is so focused on getting people out of DT that she fucks up the orders. today, she handed out the next car’s drink after that customer TOUCHED the lid of the cup and thought it was ok to give it to the appropriate customer. in addition, she told the bar partners that we needed a chai tea latte at the window, when we needed a white mocha; which, the bar partners freaked out and made a chai on the fly only for it to be tossed. she also NEVER stays planted which messes up my flow of everything.

i personally could care less about if our DT times are under 32 seconds since i see NO direct benefit, but i wish she would see that like everyone else does. everyday isn’t going to be a 30 second DT time day. if you slowed down a bit instead of focusing on throwing stuff out the window, our times would improve.
